PRESS RELEASE

EXTRATAINMENT PARTNERS WITH MICROSOFT

Dutch entertainment company ExtraTainment has joined the Microsoft Windows Embedded Partner Program (WEP). By taking part in the Windows Embedded Partner Program, ExtraTainment expects to further position itself as a solutions and content provider for Windows Embedded products. Based upon their knowledge of the Windows CE operating system, ExtraTainment is already providing applications solutions for the wireless industry in Europe, USA and Asia Pacific.

“We see great opportunities for narrow bandwidth based services in both Windows CE and Windows NT Embedded 4.0,” says Curt Roth, CEO and Chairman of ExtraTainment. “Being a member of the Windows Embedded Partner Program will assist ExtraTainment in showcasing our company to an even larger audience”.

“The Windows Embedded Partner Program provides a flexible infrastructure to enable its members to work together so that they can quickly and easily bring to market rich, 32-bit connected smart devices,” said Keith White, senior director of marketing at Microsoft Corp. “As a member of WEP, ExtraTainment will be able to extend its delivery of mobile multimedia entertainment content to a new group of Windows Powered partners and customers who are developing next generation mobile devices.”

With the introduction of Windows Embedded products, Microsoft aims to expand the number of choices for developers of embedded solutions. Windows Embedded operating system offerings support the highly popular Windows Win32 application programming interface (API) with support for a broad range of development tools and resources for the embedded developer community. ExtraTainment is a BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts) Interactive Entertainment Award nominee. It is a winner of the Cool Site of the Month Award and is nominated for the Cool Site of the Year Award. ExtraTainment is recognized as one of the world's leading companies for the creation and delivery of mobile multimedia entertainment content.

ExtraTainment offers streaming, narrow bandwidth entertainment content such as cartoons, animations and games to mobile network operators to be delivered on SMS, WAP, 3G (UMTS; Universal Mobile Telecommunications System), Pocket PCs and Internet-based (mobile) terminals. Thanks to its narrow bandwidth-based multimedia content - a unique invention by ExtraTainment - mobile networks can now offer multimedia content at an early stage without the immediate need for high bandwidth networks like 3G. ExtraTainment's streaming cartoons can be sent over low to medium speed GSM and GPRS networks, enabling a 3G experience over 2G networks. The content of ExtraTainment is aimed at a younger audience, is not tied to any language or culture and is therefore extremely suitable for the global mobile market. ExtraTainment also delivers locally focused content for markets in Europe and Asia Pacific.
