ExtraTainment nominated for BAFTA Interactive Entertainment Awards

EXTRATAINMENT NOMINATED FOR BAFTA INTERACTIVE ENTERTAINMENT AWARDS
Online entertainment company ExtraTainment has been nominated for the BAFTA Interactive Entertainment Awards 2000. ExtraTainment has been nominated in the Entertainment Website category. The awards ceremony will be held on Thursday, October 26 2000 in London.
The awards committee is made up of leading industry professionals, including Macromedia vice-president Sue Thexton, Channel 4’s head of interactive services Sophie Walpole and Grant Dean, executive producer for software house Eidos.
According to Tim Carrigan, committee member and chairperson for the Entertainment Website category: “The judges’ strong feeling was that the category should recognise and reward sites exploring innovative forms of entertainment and those delivering real entertainment value.”
Beside ExtraTainment, the nominees in the Entertainment website category are Cartoon Network UK and OnlineCaroline.com. ExtraTainment is the only Dutch representive among all the BAFTA nominees.
BAFTA, the British Academy of Film & Television Arts, is the UK's leading organisation promoting and rewarding the best in film, television and interactive media. Renowned for its high-profile award ceremonies. BAFTA Interactive was formed in 1998 to nurture and reward talent in interactivity and to place British interactive industry experts on a par with their film and television counterparts.
